Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County has been caring for South Jersey's infants, children, and adolescents for over 40 years. Our seven pediatricians and two pediatric nurse practitioners are committed to the highest standards of health care, following guidelines set by the American Academy of Pediatrics and other nationally recognized health care organizations. Our practice treats children from birth through college age with comprehensive care for well child visits, acute illness, and chronic conditions. Our highly experienced professional staff includes physicians trained at the region's top medical schools and hospitals, recognized as Top Doctors in South Jersey, and medical assistants who have graduated from recognized medical assistant programs and are further trained within our offices to respond to your needs efficiently and courteously.     Dr. Richard King joined Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in July 1981. Board certified since 1983, Dr. King completed his internship and residency at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (1978-1981). After completing his undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College (1974), Dr. King received his doctoral degree in medicine from Georgetown University (1978). He has been chosen as a Top Doc for Kids by SJ Magazine several times. Dr. King is married to Erica and has three daughters and two grandchildren. He enjoys traveling, playing tennis (pretty good), and golfing (mediocre). "I've been practicing pediatrics for over 30 years and still enjoy coming to work each day. It's fun to interact with the kids, and I get a great deal of satisfaction out of helping young children and their families."

  • Marius Wechsler MD, FAAP

    Specialty: Pediatrics

    Dr. Marius Wechsler, a board certified pediatrician, joined Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in 1988. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School after completing his undergraduate studies at Columbia University. Dr. Wechsler performed his pediatric internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein Affiliated Hospitals in New York. He is a fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics and his areas of interest include dermatology, genetics, parenting and international adoptions. "I find great satisfaction in easing the anxiety that surrounds doctor visits for my patients and their families. Pediatrics allows me, through my patients' eyes, to get a fresh look on life and its promise on a daily basis. My goal as a physician is to help children and families prevent and treat problems that could interfere with that promise." Dr. Wechsler resides in Mount Laurel and, in his spare time, he coaches and plays competitive table tennis, swims, enjoys traveling, and loves the company of his wife and two daughters.

  • Karen Kaighn MD, FAAP

    Dr. Karen Kaighn joined Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in November 2005. Board certified since 1999, Dr. Kaighn completed her internship and residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia (1996-1999). She received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University College (1989) and her doctoral degree in medicine from UMDNJ (now Rutgers) - New Jersey Medical School (1996). Dr. Kaighn is a native of South Jersey. She grew up in Marlton and is a graduate of Cherokee High School. Dr. Kaighn is married to Kevin and has 2 sons and 1 feisty dog. She enjoys traveling, cooking, watching her children play soccer, and running. "The thing that I most enjoy about pediatrics is interacting with children and their families and seeing them grow. I find it most rewarding when I see a child grow and find their path in life."

  • Melissa Labroli MD, FAAP

    Dr. Labroli, certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her doctorate degree from Jefferson Medical College. She completed her internship and residency and at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Labroli was a pediatrician in private practice for three years before joining Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in 2012. "I enjoy the continuity of pediatrics, watching families grow and children mature and change every year. In addition, I take special interest in nutrition and basic food counseling. This is something everyone should be thinking about - not just for kids but for the whole family. I live in Moorestown, with my husband and two very active boys. My hobbies include going to the gym, going to the beach, and attending the boys' sporting events"

  • Michelle Wilke, DO

    Dr. Wilke received her undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University and her doctorate degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at Nemours/A.I DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware and is looking forward to joining the Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County over the summer. “I enjoy making life-long connections with families and watching children develop their own unique personalities. I live on a farm in Salem, NJ with my husband Doug and Boston Terrier puppy Maxine. I have a special interest in global medicine and plan on continuing my work in Africa throughout my career. When not working; I like to run, travel the world, and watch Penn State football games (Go Lions!)”

    Susan Bergdoll-Faykes, RN, CPNP joined Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in 1995. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University before completing her master of science in nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania. "My role at Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County is to provide well child care to children and adolescents. My hope is to provide the most appropriate care with as much empathy as possible."

    Dr. Sancho received her undergraduate degree from Brown University and doctorate degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed her residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is joining Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in July 2021. “I truly enjoy connecting with patients and families as well as helping children along their various paths. I have a special interest in early development and plan to continue to foster this interest throughout my career. When not working I enjoy taking long walks around my neighborhood, travelling and reading all kinds of books.”

    Dr. Chua joined Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County in the Summer of 2022 after completing his residency at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree from Penn State and his doctorate degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. “One of the best things about pediatrics is getting the opportunity to build a relationship with children and their parents and watching everyone grow from year to year. This is something that I would love to continue doing in my new home. On a side note, I have a special interest in ADHD, migraines and tics that I would like to continue building upon. When I am not working, I enjoy a wide variety of board games and a good hike.”

    Allie Allaire, RN, CPNP received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University and has worked as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at both St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for the past 4 years. She received her Master’s in Nursing from Drexel University and completed clinical rotations at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County. Allie is excited to start her Nurse Practitioner career at Advocare Pediatric Physicians of Burlington County. Caring for the pediatric population and their families is a true passion of hers and the connections she makes with pediatric patients and their families brings her much joy. In her spare time, Allie enjoys yoga, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
